Advertisement Guide

Hi everyone! As I’m sure you’ve noticed, these past few weeks we’ve had trouble recruiting new members due to an error during the registration process. Now that Webs has cleared up, the moderators and I need as much help as we can get to spread the word about this roleplay and build up our member count.

Telling your friends about the website and inviting them to join is the most reliable way of finding new members, and who doesn’t like roleplaying with their friends? You don’t have to limit this to just offline friends, online friends from other roleplaying communities or even less likely places like social media sites may be eager to join as well, once you’ve explained the site to them.

According to past surveys, most members find this website from Google. Unfortunately, directly moving up our rank through google isn’t feasible, but we can try and increase the activity to this website by using their algorithms to our advantage. While Google is constantly changing the algorithm and their methods are notoriously opaque, there are a few tried and true things that will help us out, such as adding content to the site and having a healthy mix of outgoing and incoming links, alongside things like creating a more cellphone-friendly mobile design, which I’m working on already. The best way that you can help with this is to actually to do what you already do: roleplay, comment on threads, chat on members’ pages, post and comment on art, etc.

Finally, a handful of members first find out about the site through an advertisement. Advertisements for this website fall into two broad categories: those that are posted on a designated advertisement area on another roleplaying site, and those posted to social media feeds (ex. DeviantArt, Instagram, Tumblr). All members are welcome to advertise for the site and you can use one of the formats listed below or make one of your own.

When you’re advertising for the website, always remember to be courteous and respectful of websites you’re advertising on. This means that you should always follow their rules, spam their advertisement boxes or feeds, and design elegant and professional-looking ads in lieu of overly colorful, large, or otherwise obnoxious ads. As well, you should feel free to tailor your advertisements to match the atmosphere of the website you’re targeting. For instance, a vampire roleplay might favor a dark red color, while a pinterest post is likely to look better in a delicate dark grey font.

Members can come from unexpected places, so don’t limit your advertisements to only other Warriors roleplay websites. In fact, even if a website isn’t active and hasn’t been for years, it’s still a good idea to post there. A roleplayer who’s seeking an active community might click on the site and check the advertisement box, and at the least it may help our google ranking.

Here are a few advertisements that I use, you’re welcome to repost them wherever you’d like.

You stand before a bone-white tree, as a breeze flutters by you, it directs your gaze over the small overhang, where you see four distinct territories. You have heard of them before:

MoonClan, SunClan, EarthClan, and EclipseClan. A voice speaks to you: "You look excited little one, have you just realized you left the safety of your home? You look worried. I won't hurt you, but others may. Are you prepared to fight tooth and claw for what you believe in? You must make your choice, which direction will you take?"---
