Original Post: Ember, March 6, 2015
Recently there has been a large wave of doll-maker created pictures posted on the art pages, my moderators and I are concerned they are turning the attention of the art pages away from member created artwork and don’t fit clearly into the rule requiring all images posted there to be either original, or significantly edited. As well as that, images eat up a lot of bandwidth, which is growing tighter the more new members are accepted onto the website.
From now on, members will be permitted to have five doll-maker created pictures on their album at a time. The number is by picture, not by number of dolls on the picture. For example, if a member posts had one big family tree with 10 different dolls on it, the image would still count as one doll-maker created picture, not ten. Dolls that have been significantly edited will not fall under this category. Whether a doll has been taken directly or significantly edited, the artist must be specifically cited or a link to the doll maker provided. Members may choose which images they wish to have on their album, as long as they have no more than five.
On March 13th, a week from now, I will be going through the albums and removing dolls from albums containing more dolls than allowed under this new rule. The five most recent will be left, assuming the doll-maker itself was properly cited in the description of the picture. If you have more than five dolls on your album, please select which ones you will keep and remove the rest before this date.
